- Starting this year we will also offer the "Shane Buntje Memorial Scholarship fund.  This will provide $500 to one boy and one girl.  The Shane Buntje Memorial Hockey Fund has been established by the friends and family of Shane Buntje through the Tartan Area Youth Hockey Association to provide financial assistance for post-secondary education for those young men and women who participated in the Tartan Area Youth Hockey program. Shane loved playing and coaching hockey and mentoring younger children. His friends and family created this fund to honor his memory and his passion for hockey and higher education.  Shane recognized the impact hockey had on his life in terms of teaching leadership, confidence and teamwork, strong attributes for youth as they further their learning and training in  post-secondary education.
